The device connects via Bluetooth with your Garmin Edge cycling computer, Garmin Smartwatches (watches), or a compatible smartphone. The new Varia Mobile App gives you eyes in the back of your neck and can both tell if one or more cars are approaching and if they are coming at high speed.
Garmin has also made it possible for the light to work together with third-party apps so that it can also be used with "Ride with GPS".
The light can be seen at a 220 degree angle so that it is also visible from the side.
Rear light works like a radar that detects cars up to 140m away, so you are sure you are seen.
It is shown with dots that symbolize how close the cars are to catching up with you. The dots are all the way to the left and do not interfere with your data fields.

The RCT716 has a battery life of up to 4 hours with constant light. 5 hours at low brightness and 6 hours at daylight flashing. All of these battery times are listed when recording 1080P video.
You can lower the resolution to 720P to extend battery life.
