Continental has now launched the new variant 5000S TR Tubeless version which is also used by the biggest riders on the biggest bike stages
The Grandprix 5000 tire has been improved and developed so that it is now:
- 20% faster
- 28% Stronger (better puncture protection)
- 50 grams lighter
And those improvements have already proved their worth by being on the winning bike for the World Cup in Belgium and also led Colbrelli to victory in the legendary Paris-Roubaix
Continental has achieved these improvements by rethinking the tubeless tire
The GP5000 s tire has a completely new 2-part construction which not only gives the tire a lower weight and a better rolling resistance, but it also makes the tire easier to get on the bike.
This is also because the tire is made "hookless" compatible and can be used on rims made for ordinary folding tires as well as rims made for Tubeless
The new design also means there are changes to the maximum tire pressure:
