The wattmeter is crank-based, which means that it measures the power inside the crank on the shaft itself. However, it is measured on the left side.
The wattmeter has a long battery life, but with easy battery replacement, AAA batteries are used in it.
The crank system is for SRAM's new standard which is DUB and the pedal arms are made of aluminum.
