Choose a tape width that matches the inner width of your rim or is slightly larger. The rim tape should cover the entire rim base and can even extend to cover part of both sides. Using too narrow rim tape can result in air leakage between the rim and the tape - something that can be incredibly frustrating. If it's too wide, it might interfere with proper tire placement.

Installation:

• Clean the rim thoroughly and ensure it's dry.
• Install the tape by firmly pulling it into the rim. It should sit snugly and without any holes or trapped air.
• Ensure it overlaps the valve hole by at least 10 cm. It's better to have a longer overlap than a shorter one.
• Use two layers for high-pressure wheels (above 8 bar / 120 psi).
• Cut the tape at a 45° angle for the best adhesion and flexibility.
• Install MilKit tubeless valves in the rim: Simply make a small hole in the tape and push the valve through the tape and into the rim.
