The rims are constructed with Mavic's patented Fore technology, featuring a fully sealed upper rim bridge that eliminates the need for rim tape. This saves 30 grams per wheel and removes the hassle of using tape to set up tubeless tires. Mavic utilizes ISM processing, which removes material in strategic areas of the rim to minimize weight without compromising strength. The rim has a 30mm internal width, optimized to squeeze the best performance out of any modern trail tire, and Mavic's Black Shield technology gives them a distinctive finish, protecting against scratches and wear.

Mavic Crossmax XL S 29" is laced with 24 straight-pull spokes to further fine-tune the sweet spot between lateral stiffness and vertical compliance.

Mavic Crossmax XL S 29" is designed for 6-bolt brake discs, is compatible with Shimano HG9 cassettes, and comes with UST tubeless valves, spare parts, and accessories.
