The new 12 speed rear derailleur from Shimano in the Ultegra series has inherited the same technologies from its big brother Dura Ace.
The rear derailleur has been given a new and improved design as well as a new motor inside the rear derailleur which has made the gear change even more efficient. It switches 58% faster than the R9150 series.
The rear derailleur has a maximum capacity of 34 teeth, and can only be used with Shimano 12-speed cassettes.
Only compatible with HG+ chains from Shimano.
The DI2 system is charged through the rear derailleur where there is a charging plug. It is therefore referred to as the main unit in the system.
