Shimano's latest Ultegra group, where these brand new shifters are one of the new inventions.

The shifters are wireless, unlike the previous versions which were connected with DI2 wires to a junction box.

These shifters are controlled by button cell batteries, 1pc. 2032 in each shift lever and then they are connected via the rear derailleur which is the new main unit of the DI2 system. This provides longer battery life and 45% faster gear changes on the front derailleur and 58% faster gear changes on the rear derailleur.

The shift lever is made 4.4 mm. longer than the 11 speed version for better ergonomics and the difference between the two buttons on the handle is made more marked, so that you have a better feeling with which button you press.
