Silca Ultimate Tubeless Fluid utilizes a foaming latex formula combined with chopped carbon fiber to enhance sealing performance - even at higher pressures. This unique liquid contains 5% recycled carbon fibers of 6, 9, and 12mm from recycled bicycles, carbon wheels, racing cars, and aircraft components.
An innovative foaming latex formula enables ultra-light carbon fibers to be distributed evenly in the liquid during driving. This enables a higher fiber content than is possible with Kevlar or fiberglass. At this high fiber load, bundles of carbon fibers are transported directly to the puncture by the fluid flow, where thousands of microbubbles collapse, depositing their rigid carbon fibers over the hole. This dam of high-strength fibers has proven to be able to seal holes of up to 7.5mm in tests, which is 25% larger than conventional technologies.
After the puncture is sealed, an area of the tire is left with a zone of carbon fiber-reinforced latex bridging the top and bottom of the hole, helping to reduce the likelihood of future punctures in that area.
It is recommended to add a refill every 90-120 days depending on the temperature. The refill can also be used to refill very porous tires during initial installation.
CO2 can be used temporarily to mount the tire, but should then be released and replaced with the air pump to preserve the life of the sealant.
